Established September 1976






The name of the Association shall be: THE NEW BRAUNFELS GOLF ASSOCIATION.






The purposes of the Association are to support, maintain, and further the interest of Golf within the City of New Braunfels, Comal County, and elsewhere; to foster good fellowship and recreational opportunities for the members through the game of golf; and to encourage young people to become interested and involved in golf.






Section 1.  There will be two types of membership in the Association

                  a.   Active

                  b.   Honorary

 Section 2.  All members must abide by the rules and regulations of the Association.

 Section 3.  Any person interested in the advancement of golf and supporting the objectives of the Association shall be eligible or membership, subject to approval of the membership and Board of Director






Section 1.  There shall be seven (7) officers whose titles will be as follows:

a.         President

b.         Vice‑President

c.         Tournament Chairman

d.         Handicap Chairman

e.         Treasurer

f.          Secretary

g.         Social Secretary


Section 2.  Officers will be elected by the Association membership.

Section 3.  The duly elected officers of the Association will automatically become the Board of Directors.

Section 4.  The Board of Directors shall have full powers and authority in the interval between meetings of the Association to perform all functions they deem necessary, except that it shall have no power to amend the Constitution or By-Laws.

Section 5.  The Board of Directors shall have powers to expel members in the most ethical manner for,:

a.          Unethical conduct

b.          Incorrigible behavior

c.          Habitually serious breaches regarding rules and


Section 6.  Outgoing officers shall hand over all records and materials pertaining to the Association to the new officers.

Section 7.  Officers are entrusted with the privileges and responsibilities associated with their respective officers and are thereby urged to execute them with the most exactness and efficiency.




Administrative Functions


Section 1. Parliamentary procedures will prevail at all meetings as set forth in Roberts Rules of Order.

Section 2. Quarterly meetings of the Association shall be held in the third week in the month of January, April, July, and October at a time and place designated to, the President.

Section 3. Special meetings of the membership of the Association may be called by the President, Board of Directors, or upon written request of ten (10) or more members of the Association.

Section 4.  Board of Directors meetings may be called at the discretion of the President.

Section 5.  Each member present shall be allowed one (1) vote at any meeting.

Section 6.  All propositions to alter, amend, or add to this Constitution shall be presented in writing at a meeting of the Association, and filed with the Secretary, who shall have the same duly publicized at least thirty (30) days before being acted upon, and shall not be adopted without concurrence of two‑thirds (2/3) of the votes cast.

Section 7.  A majority of those active members of the Association present shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of the Association.





Section 1.  It is prohibited to use the name of this Association, either individually or jointly, in matters, which do not concern the New Braunfels Golf Association, without the consent of the Association membership.







Section 1. The president will appoint special committees, as he deems necessary.

Section 2. The Committee Chairman will be appointed by the President.






Section 1. The Tournament Chairman shall be responsible for all Tournament activities in accordance with existing bylaws.

Section 2. All Association Tournaments will be conducted according to U.S.G.A. and existing local golf course rules.

Section 3. The Tournament Chairman, with assistance from one or more members of the Board of Directors as deemed appropriate, will be the sole authority on any rules dispute arising out of tournament play. All rulings by the Tournament Chairman will be final.

Section 4. The Handicap Chairman will take such actions as required to provide handicaps for Association members in accordance with U.S.G.A. rules and regulations.

Section 5. Each member will be responsible for submitting a certified score card, for each eighteen (18) holes played, to the Tournament Chairman. The Tournament Chairman will submit scorecards to Handicap Chairman.

Section 6. The Association will be responsible for providing appropriate trophies and/or prizes for all tournaments.
