George Melnik reviewed the minutes from the February 23 meeting
Bill Glitch review the handicap system used by the golf club and said we would be receiving plastic cards for our handicaps once again. He explained use of the handicap books and the on-line system. Dan Tennant spoke about the importance of posting all scores.
Tim Pelley welcomed the new members and introduced the new members
that signed up on 3-18-2014.
George Melnik reviewed the recent OVGA board meeting with the membership. We have contracted with Jason Martin of Wheeling Country Club to be the Junior Golf Director. Jason and his staff will be providing our PGA instruction. We are having a meeting for the Juniors on April 5 at 9:30am at Wheeling Country club and encourage any juniors interested to be there.
Tournament Directors Reports:
19th Hole Allan Kage Memorial Snowbird- March 30th 8:30 shotgun Jay Grob reviewed the details of the upcoming Allan Kage Snowbird. 75 players Website will have groupings. Food will be in the Pine room after the event by 19th hole
Ye Olde Alpha, Speidel Medal & Handicap April 27th Greg Gaudino. 8:00AM shotgun Please let the tournament directors know if you will be walking or riding for this event. Make sure to turn in scorecards promptly
Dubie Dailer Memorial Generations: May 4th Jim Dailer & Bill Glitch. This is a two man scramble with 8:30am shotgun. Medal & Handicap Jim wanted to thank the club attorneys for assisting with the event. We will be paying 10 places in each division. Proximity prize on every hole.
Kalkrueth Roofing & Sheet Metal: June 14th & 15th Dan Tennant. Applications are available at this time or are available on line @ www.oglebaygc.com. Dan said that there will be gift bags this year for the participants and he urged anyone wishing to play to get the application in as soon as possible. Morning times are filling up. Food will be Pulled Pork by
ABC supply in Benwood. Workers will get shirt & hat. Last year's volunteers are already registered.

By- Laws: Dave Sims discussed revision of the by-laws in order to cleanup some of the wording.
A discussion was held for lower age limits on membership, it was decided that the Board of Directors will manage the age limit question under further consideration with the application.
A discussion was held to discuss the eligibility of Professional golfers within our club events. A vote was held and the revision will now read that anyone who is a member of the club and does not have amateur status can not compete in the medal division but can compete in handicap division.
A motion was made by BJ Widmer that if a member requests mailed information they need to present that request to the club secretary.
A line has been added that the dues will be determined by the Board of Directors instead of a specific amount in the in the by-laws.
Phil Pata made a motion, seconded by Terry Younkins that Board members and officers will no longer pay dues starting in 2015.
Jim Tysk discussed purchasing his pass and not receiving any documentation for the transaction, he was asking for the board to discuss this with the Oglebay staff
George Melnik discussed the ways the OVGA will be honoring John Wilson throughout the year in the open events. The Junior division will be known as the John Wilson Junior Division. And the Junior player of the year will receive the John Wilson Memorial trophy.
Dave Harke will be setting up an Oglebay Park Junior Championship in mid July.
